Welcome. I’m a 42 year old software engineer living in Silicon Valley in California. I’ve been married now for 13 years and have two wonderful kids. I grew up and have lived most of my life here in Silicon Valley in a family that had little, living paycheck to paycheck. I knew back then that I did not want to live like that the reset of my life. But I did little about it until after I met my wife to be in 1993. Since then I have worked hard to provide a better life for myself and my new family.
In January 2007 when we started the process to buy the house we now live in we sat down and reviewed our financial situation in detail. We were doing good but clearly saw that we could do a lot better. We’ve done a lot of planning and made many changes since that time.
I’ve created this blog to help share what we have done and to help us track progress towards out goals. I also hope to create a place where my readers can share and gain valuable information to help them build a better future.
